surfing is not the only board sport on the beach!

Skim Boarding, as anyone on the seacoast can attest to, has become one of the most popular pastimes on the beach. It is a great way to pass the flat spells during the summer months and develop the lateral balance that is so crucial to surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding. Imagine flying across the shoreline as you hydroplane over a cushion of water!

The sport has made huge advances from its humble start in the late 1970's, with today's pros performing huge inverted aerials and sticking big tricks off rail slides. Although we do teach advanced classes that work on aerials and rail slides, the majority of our classes concentrate on the fundamentals. And our beaches offer some of the best riding in New England with less rocks and plenty of level shoreline for smooth riding!

lessons emphasize:

• Safety and etiquette
• Reading and timing the waves
• Running with and throwing the board properly
• Establishing proper footing and body-positioning
• Carrying your speed from the throw to the jump
• Controlling the board and navigating waves
• Learning tricks and aerials

We organize our lessons to fit your schedule, so we can go out whenever you want. We always have instructors on call, but give us as much advance warning as possible so we can ensure you get the time slot you want.

pricing:

private - $50 / hour includes board

semi-private (2 or more) - $40 per person / hour includes board
