Tyler and Summer Session Surf Shop:

So I've been talking about it for 10 years now.

The first time I drove up the slight hill and peered over the blue ocean at Long Sands, I knew I was finally home. I remember surveying the beach and taking a deep breath, and for a rare instance, being in the moment. And then I saw the specs of black in the gentle waves.

I asked my partner, "Are those seals?"

He looked. "They are surfers." he replied.

"In Maine?" I paused, refocusing my eyes like you do with binoculars. "In November?" He confirmed with his sweet smile.

"That is so cool!!!" I exclaimed as I ran down to the trickling waves and put my hand in the water, and tasted it to confirm in was salty. "I want to surf in November!"

10 years later, I live here. And now, because of your help, my dream will come true.

Thank you Summer Sessions for your excellent customer service. I was so confident in what I purchased after Tyler showed me the ins and outs of purchasing a wetsuit, boots, and gloves. And the price was totally reasonable and less than the price I had researched. You also showed me that I too could be a surfer, even though I do not have the slight frame of a surfer girl. I am a surfing mama.

After my surfing gear purchase, I took a brief nap with the over anxious 3 year old and 5 year old. When I woke up, my kids and I waxed my board with "Sticky Bumps" (I love the name of this product", got half way into the wetsuit, loaded the hubby, kids, and gear into the mini-van, and drove 5 minutes to Long Sands.

The waves were nothing and my hubby wondered if it was even worth me going out. But I confidently smiled, and looked at the ocean and said, "I have to start somewhere." I finished getting my awesome front zipper Ripcurl suit on. I rolled up the bottom of the legs and put on the two toed booties and overlapped the suit over the booties (just like you showed me at Summer Sessions). I put on the gloves, and with board in hand, I walked past my kids and partner, confident.

And even though the water was 48 degrees, I felt comfortable, at ease, and at home.

Thanks Summer Sessions for helping us learn to surf! My son and I recently had a lesson with Ryan, and had such a blast we got a beginner board that we could both use. Can't believe I've lived on the seacoast all my life and never surfed, now I'm obsessed and Danny's worse! We'll be back for another board soon. Thanks again guys!

My kids haven't stopped talking about your surf camps all winter! The instructors were all incredible, but a special thanks to Caitlin for helping Maggy feel comfortable in the water. There's nothing better than starting off the work day by getting out on the waves. Ryan and Tyler have a way of making everything fun, even if there is only a ripple on the water! It was the best corporate outing I've ever attended!
